After 14 years of Blackberry manufacturing, the company has announced that they will no longer produce smartphones. Of course the tragic news for the blackberry fans makes them wonder why. The reason is that the company has struggled to compete with smartphone competitors such as Apple’s Iphone and Google’s Android. The company had a unique Qwerty style keyboard for the smartphone and thus failed to compete against the world’s popular touch screen manufacturers.

The iphone and Android’s millions of apps and full touchscreens has pushed down blackberry’s profit scale.

The company has now stated that it will no longer produce smartphones but will instead begin on making softwares for phones. John Chen said “We are focusing on software development, including security and applications. The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners. This allows us to reduce capital requirements and enhance return on invested capital.”

Of Course, this is a tragedy for its users as they commented: “I haven’t seen a better hardware on any smartphone comparable to BlackBerry.” “I won’t give up with Blackberry, actually i’m planning to buy a classic one now.”  “too bad. I Had three BlackBerries. Actually I still used a Q10. Good, solid tools.” Despite the fact that people are flooding the internet with disappointment, there is still no way that the company will once again begin manufacturing these famous Qwerty style smartphones, as its profit has dropped in a miserable manner.
