With 5 million subscribers and $5.5 million in annual revenue, I’m combining the knowledge I’ve passed on to thousands of creators with direct support and feedback from my team to level up an entire year of your YouTube growth.
You can have the best educational materials in the world at your fingertips, but when you’re dealing with something as arduous as building a successful YouTube channel – which takes years of consistent hard work and improvement – the more support you have, the better.
Why?
Ultimately, a course on its own still needs you to do the work yourself.
Look at it this way.
But if I just teach you those things and then you’ve got to figure out how to actually apply what you’ve learned to the content you’re creating, how do you know that you’re getting it right?
Being a YouTuber is an incredibly time-consuming process, where the best of the best know that every second they pump into their YouTube channel guarantees them some kind of a return.
You can know all of the right steps to take, but if you’re not executing on them correctly then there’s every chance you’re just pouring more of your time down the drain – and even worse, that you’re doing so while you think you’re nailing it every step of the way.
Yes, there’s an abundance of insight, information and guidance out there on YouTube which you can use to guide you, but you still have to be able to spare enough time to parse through it all, to know the right questions to ask and to know how to apply changes to the content you’re creating – without doubling the amount of time you’re putting into YouTube already.
What do you do if you have a team of people working with you on your channel, but you don’t know everyone can level up their abilities so you’re producing really high-level content which will maximise your chances of growing on YouTube?
It all boils down to this:
Without support, you’re on your own trying to get everything right and trying to figure out what’s happened when things don’t go as planned.
Everyone knows that growing on YouTube takes time. My team and I want to help you get the highest return on yours.
If we haven’t met before – Hi, my name’s Ali 👋
I started making YouTube videos in 2017, while in my final year of medical school at Cambridge University.
I started off with 0 views, 0 subscribers and $0 in revenue. I knew absolutely nothing about filming, editing or publishing videos, but after watching hundreds of tutorials, I figured out the basics.
18 months later, my YouTube channel reached 100,000 subscribers and was making as much money as my full-time job working as a doctor.
Two years later, I hit 1 million subscribers, $1m in annual revenue, and finally made the decision to quit my day job.
Now, I’ve been a Part-Time YouTuber for nearly 6 years. My channel’s grown from zero to 4.4 million subscribers, and I have a team of 12 full-time employees and a huge network of amazing freelancers who work with me to help people build a life they love through inspiring, educational content.
I have a podcast with almost 300k monthly downloads and a combined following of over 1 million people on other social media platforms.
I genuinely look forward to Mondays, working with a team of amazing creatives, and doing what I love, with a lot of freedom, fun and flexibility. I get messages every day from people saying my videos have changed their lives. I’ve even written my first book, due to be published by Penguin later this year.
Last year my business made $4.5 million in revenue.
This year, we made almost $2 million in 3 months.
And the team of full-time employees I’ve built over the last three years are among the best in the world at their jobs, working with other creators to help them scale and grow their YouTube channels and their businesses, and continually levelling up their skillsets to stay at the top of their game.
I think it’s fair to say that YouTube has completely changed my life.
And I want to help you leverage it to change yours.
You might have a unique perspective or an unfair advantage over the competition but the sheer standard of the content being created on YouTube these days has never been higher.
So if we want to creating videos that people find valuable, we need to ask a couple of questions:
The biggest channels on YouTube often have an entire team of people behind them focusing full-time on one pursuit (think pro editors, thumbnail designers, scriptwriters, strategists etc.).
You’ve got to compete with the pros – but if you’re doing this alone or in a small team, you’ve got to compete with the pros in every direction and on every aspect of your video production.
You can’t do a degree in thumbnail production (yet) but there are professionals out there who could probably give an entire university level course on everything they know about thumbnails.
The same goes for each discipline involved in a successful YouTube channel.
What if you could learn directly from professionals like this?
What if you could put your thumbnails in front of them, and have them tell you what they’d improve? How they’d think about your thumbnails to make them world class?
Imagine you could sit with each of these experts once per week (if you wanted to) and ask them questions specific to what you’re working on, the last video you filmed, the thumbnail you can’t figure out, or the product you’re trying to launch – and to have them right by your side to help guide you through all of these decisions.
You could make sure that the strategy you’re implementing has been approved or that you’ve had an eagle-eye look at your most recent edit so that you’re effectively being mentored through each step of your YouTube process from start to finish.
Sound good?
Avoid making key mistakes – we’ve made them so you don’t have to, and we can help you dodge them as you grow
Choose the highest leverage activities to pump your time and energy into, so you know that no second spent working on your YouTube channel is a second wasted
Build a robust ecosystem of YouTube content (the foundation of your content empire) through conversations, brainstorming and workshops with world-class experts who know your content, know the challenge’s you’re facing and have been working with you every step of the way
Grow. Not just in views and subscribers, but in revenue and cross-platform influence
And we’re growing with you. My team and I have helped hundreds of channels with zero subscribers to hit the ground running, and hundreds of channels with thousands of subscribers scale faster than they ever expected.
The Part-Time YouTuber Accelerator probably isn’t a good fit for you if – You’re not willing to put in the time and effort to commit to making videos for the long term.
Again, the one thing we can guarantee is that if you create useful videos, publish consistently, and do this for 2 years, your life will change. And we’ll be by your side until you’re halfway there.
A curriculum of over 20 hours of educational material designed to teach you everything I know about growing a YouTube channel.
This includes:
10 hours of material teaching you everything we know about YouTube from getting started all the way through to monetising, building a team and turning your channel from a hobby into a thriving business.
More than 16 hours of extra video training on camera gear, studio setups, monetisation, repurposing, community building, newsletter creation and more.
So that as your channel grows, there’ll always be useful information and insights you can benefit from every step of the way
Throughout my journey over the last 6 years, I’ve had constant questions from other creators asking about how I grew my own channel as a Part-Time YouTuber. So in 2020, I started the Part-Time YouTuber Academy as a way to help creators invest their time into what really matters when it comes to being a Part-Time YouTuber – building a system.
The systems we’ve developed and which we teach in the course grew my own channel from zero to 1.2 million subscribers (with $1,000,000 in annual revenue) while working full-time as a doctor.
And the systems I’ve continued to develop and use since then have grown my channel to 3.7 million subscribers (with $4,600,000 in annual revenue). All while “working” under 10 hours per week on the channel.
You’ll go through our Niche Discovery Framework, to help you figure out your niche and what to make videos about, so you’re not wasting time creating content that’s unlikely to work for you in the long term
You’ll get my Outsourcing Almanack – a system for outsourcing editing, including job descriptions and a step-by-step guide to finding the perfect video editor who edits in your own style. This’ll help you save 10+ hours every single week.
You’ll learn my Perfect Packaging Process, a step-by-step framework (including best practices, templates and tools) for creating compelling titles and thumbnails quickly and efficiently, so you’re not spending hours trying to craft the ‘perfect’ title and thumbnail combination every time.
And so you’re not wasting hours creating videos that no one’s going to click on because the title and thumbnail suck 😉
You’ll learn my HIVES Framework for structuring and scripting your videos so that you’re not wasting your time trying to reinvent the wheel every time you make a video.
You’ll build your own streamlined Infinite Content Engine, with the next 3-6 months of content planned out, so you can sustain your output after the course ends.
You’ll build your own Idea Generation Machine that’ll help you generate ideas, and tell you which video ideas have a higher chance of going viral and growing your channel, so you’re not wasting time making videos that are unlikely to perform well.
You’ll also get access to all of our checklists and templates, as well as things like our PTYA Workbook – this is a 56-page digital supplement to the course which breaks down each of the lessons into exercises you can use to really consolidate the learnings into actions that will supercharge your growth.
Want more info and a full breakdown of the curriculum we’ll share with you? You can check out our full page about the Part-Time YouTuber Academy here – and remember, you’ll get all of this for free when you join the Accelerator.
In these Office Hours, you’ll have an open-source pass to the team behind my $5 million a year business—professionals who specialise in areas such as scriptwriting, YouTube strategy, editing, social media growth, video production, sponsorships, monetisation, marketing, and more.
Think of this as having a dream team right at your fingertips, providing personalised guidance tailored to your specific needs. Whether you’re struggling with the perfect thumbnail, a script for your latest video, or navigating the launch of a new product, the team are there to ensure your strategies are sound and your content reaches its maximum potential.
These office hours aren’t just one-off events; they are weekly, interactive 60-minute sessions which you’ll have access to for the entire 12 months. You’re free to drop in and out, ask burning questions, seek advice, and continuously improve your craft under the team’s supervision.
Think of it like continual education from industry leaders who are at the cutting edge of their fields, who know your goals and what you’re working on and who have a single-minded focus on elevating your work and increasing your potential.
Think of them as “specialist subject” hours – where you can go if you need to ask a detailed question on a workflow in Final Cut Pro or After Effects, or want to learn about how to get a podcast off the ground, or even if you’re thinking of starting a course of your own.
Most of the team also work as freelance consultants or coaches, charging hundreds of dollars per hour for their time, and you’ll be able to leverage their expertise every week, building on your previous conversations to continually troubleshoot your issues and level up what you’re working on.
Here’s what the week of calls looks like:
This isn’t your everyday chat room; it’s a space full of real-time brainstorming, information sharing and feedback manned by the team and I.
Imagine having the power to refine your thumbnails, titles, and content before you ever hit publish.
No more playing the waiting game to see if something works or relying on A/B testing alone for your titles and thumbnails; in our Slack channels we can give you input tailored to your needs, helping you make those crucial tweaks before your content goes live.
We’ve got channels for you to ask questions, and channels for you to brainstorm things like titles and thumbnails and to get feedback on ideas and videos from the team and other students.
The team and I will use this Slack group to share what we’re working on, experiments we’re running on the channel and other cool things. We’ll voice note you our thoughts on a strategy you’re working on, record Looms walking you through something visual or to show you how we think about a certain topic on the team, share thumbnail breakdowns with you when we’re trying something new and we’ll shout out wins and success stories from within the Accelerator group as we go.
There’s also the opportunity to leverage the collective experience of your fellow Accelerator members. This group brings together a collection of content creators, marketers, and business brains, each bringing their unique perspective and experience to the table. You’ll benefit not just from our insight and expertise but also from the other people around you who have made the same commitment to levelling up their YouTube prowess.
Polished systems, strong ideas and great production value all have their place, but the harsh reality is you’re never going to grow on YouTube if you can’t make good videos, plain and simple.
Yes, iterating over time means you’ll improve, but it’s highly unlikely your comment section is ever going to tell you what you could do to improve your title and thumbnail, or your hook, or your edits. We will.
During the Accelerator, you’ll submit a video every two weeks to our team of experts who have reviewed thousands of videos and they’ll give you feedback specifically tailored to what you’re trying to improve.
They’ll look at your titles, thumbnails, hook, storytelling, production value, editing and much more so that you’re exponentially increasing the speed at which you can improve and you’ve got specific and actionable feedback week by week. Our 3,000+ previous students consistently rated this as one of the most useful aspects of our live course, and now it lasts a whole year.
Each month I’ll be hosting a dedicated Q&A session where you can ask me any and all questions related to your YouTube channel, content, strategy or anything else.
We’ll have a chance to go back and forth on questions and ideas you have, and I’ll explain the answer to your question as best as I can, and try and “think out loud” to explain the reasoning behind it too.
Even if you don’t have questions, you can come to this Q&A to learn from the experience of other people and to see how I think about our content production engine as a whole, and to learn more about how I’ve grown it from its infancy to the 5 million subscriber channel it is now, and the team I’ve built around it.
The Part-Time YouTuber Accelerator isn’t the only course we’ve created to help people become successful, confident and driven content creators with thriving businesses.
So we decided to give you our other courses too.
The Part-Time Creatorpreneur course is a self-paced online course, with 6+ hours of content across 40+ lessons, where you’ll learn everything there is to know about transforming your creative side-hustle into a sustainable operation that’s highly profitable, hugely scalable, and ridiculously fun.
In particular, we’ll be taking a deep dive into the principles, strategies, and tools businesses use to achieve consistent and sustainable growth, giving you a bunch of actionable + timeless insights you can use immediately to supercharge your creative projects.
In this course – with over 4.5 hours of content across 40+ lessons, I’ll be teaching you everything that I’ve learnt about camera confidence over the past few years of making hundreds of videos and coaching over 2,000 students as part of my Part-Time YouTuber Academy.
We’re going to cover a bunch of principles, strategies and tools for being more comfortable on camera, and you’ll see real life evidence of these techniques in action as I take various members of my team through the exercises, and give them feedback throughout.
For context, you could pay $10,000 for an hour of my time over a Zoom call for a private coaching session. Or, like plenty of conference organisers do, you could pay $20,000 to fly me out to give a 30-60 minute talk where I cover 1% of what you’ll learn in the course.
Back when we were running live cohorts of our Part-Time YouTuber Academy, we’d offer something similar to the Accelerator for the 6 weeks of the course (private slack channels, Q&A calls with me and other perks) for $5995. For 6 weeks – not 12 months. Keep that figure in mind 😉
Another way to put our prices into context is to think of it as an investment in your YouTube “business”. If you’re treating YouTube as a hobby, this course probably isn’t for you. But if you’re treating it like a business, then investing some money in saving time and increasing your odds of success seems like a no-brainer. Especially given (a) how much your life can change, and (b) how much money you stand to make if your YouTube channel goes well 🤷
Anyway, enough spiel – here’s the price.
For the PTYA course materials + 12 months access
The Part-Time YouTube Accelerator is a 12-month blend of all of the highest leverage parts of PTYA, including Slack support from Ali’s team, fortnightly video feedback for an entire year, monthly Q&As, monthly specialist workshops and much more.
The best part?
You can get all this for just $4,995 for the year.
So what does this look like? If you enrol to our Accelerator, you’ll get:
Our community is one of the main reasons our students have enjoyed our course so much. Once you enrol, you’ll get access to our community of over 4,000 like-minded creators who’re sharing their wins, struggles, and learnings and are always ready to help solve your YouTube-related issues or answer your questions. You’ll also get access to our live in-person events around the world, which are exclusive to alumni of PTYA.
You’ll have access to exclusive benefits and discounts with companies like TubeBuddy, Epidemic Sound, Subly, Storyblocks and more. We’re even the only course that can hook you up with a free trial for VidIQ. And we keep negotiating more and more of these deals, which you’ll get first dibs on.
(Normally on Skillshare, where the subscription costs $180/year) – Over 4 hours of instruction to teach you everything you need to get started with YouTube, like how to script, shoot, and edit your first video. It’ll also teach you how to set up an awesome-looking channel and talk confidently to the camera so that you’re completely ready to get filming as soon as possible 💪
(Normally on Skillshare, where the subscription costs $180/year) – In this 3-hour course, you’ll learn everything you need to get started with Final Cut Pro and take your editing to the next level. We’ll work to create a YouTube-style video following a 3-part workflow.
“Do the work” technically involves (a) completing the core module exercises, and (b) submitting at least 2 videos for feedback. If you’ve done those things, and for whatever reason aren’t 100% happy with your experience, drop us an email (within 30 days from the start of the program) and we’ll happily refund your entire payment.
However, please note that the money-back guarantee only applies if you actually do the work and you’re submitting videos for feedback.
Your membership to the Accelerator lasts 12 months from the day of your onboarding call with your account manager.
No, it’s not compulsory but I’d recommend that you set up a channel before your onboarding call so you’re ready to make the most of it.
No. We do recommend that you have a channel set up but over the last three years, we’ve worked with a whole range of people from those with zero subscribers to channels with over 400k. The aim of the Accelerator is to help everyone move their channels forward regardless of what stage of the journey they’re at.
No past experience with YouTube is required, you just need the desire to make YouTube part of your future. However, you do stand to make the most out of the Accelerator immediately if you’re at least up and running with your video production. If you’re a complete beginner, you might benefit more from our Part-Time YouTuber Foundations course, or our Part-Time YouTuber Academy.
Of course 🙂 The Accelerator is aimed at creators of all abilities. Having 100 videos provides you with a really solid foundation to grow, monetise and scale your channel and we hope we can help you do that through the lessons in the course material, and through the support network you’ll have access to.
The Accelerator isn’t tailored to any specific genre/style of video. That being said, educational channels (where the objective is to ‘educate’ rather than ‘entertain) are particularly ideal. Still, if your videos try to provide value to your audience, the exact type of your channel won’t matter. In fact, I think the system and processes we teach can be applied to any genre of video and we’ll be on hand to help make sure that you feel able to apply these methods if you encounter any issues
There are no requirements for equipment and gear. All you need is something to film with so your phone is perfectly fine, that’s how I started back in 2017.
100%. We’ve worked with a whole bunch of students who make videos in languages other than English. You’ll still benefit from all of the course material and the principles we’re teaching – and we’ll still be able to give you video feedback. Our Student Supporters speak a variety of languages, so there’s a chance they’ll be able to understand the script of your video, but worst case they’ll still be able to give you feedback on your title, thumbnail, production quality, editing, B-roll, and much more. The only thing to note is that the feedback you receive, and the conversations we’ll have through Slack etc will be in English.
I’ll host one live Q&A session every month where we’ll have an open forum for you to ask me your questions. On top of that, we also have additional workshops (both live and recorded) where some of my internet and YouTube friends will provide extra teaching. You’ll also be in the Slack channels where you’ll have access to my team to chat about ideas you’ve got for your videos or problems you encounter over the course of the 12 months you’re working with us.
Yes and no. You do need to edit your videos so prior experience will be beneficial but for everyone that doesn’t have editing skills, we’ll have some video editing crash courses in our pre-recorded material you can watch. Plus, you’ll get access to a free video class – ‘Video Editing with Final Cut Pro X – From Beginner to YouTuber’. You don’t need to be able to edit well, but you do need to be able to put a video together so that you can make the most of the fortnightly video feedback.
Definitely not. This is a Part-Time Accelerator and therefore it’s designed in a way that you can fit it into your already busy calendar and get the most out of it without attending all of the live Q&A sessions, masterminds and office hours. We’ll encourage you to pick the ones that strike your interest and attend those. You can always watch the rest using your lifetime access to the recordings.
No problem, we’ll send you an email after your purchase with the option to let us know you need an invoice.
Nope. There are three different ways to get involved with the Part-Time YouTuber ecosystem – (1) Our Part-Time YouTuber Foundations course for absolute beginners who just want to see if a YouTube channel might be for them, (2) our Part-Time YouTuber Academy, a self-serve course with the full curriculum (plus bonus sessions) from our live Cohorts, or (3) the Part-Time YouTuber Accelerator.
We’ll also still be continuing to hold live in-person events and other cool sessions for our PTYA Community.
No, the Accelerator is not a live cohort course. There are multiple live sessions per week with the team and a live session with Ali every month but the course modules are part of a self-paced course. (For context, PTYA was a live cohort between 2020 and 2023 but we decided to shift to this new model in April 2023 following the end of Cohort 8).
“This is the only course on YouTube where you can meet like-minded folks who will keep you accountable to posting videos & improving your skills. It’s a like a mini-semester in Uni/College – I made new friends I still talk to everyday, I learned how to create great videos from start to finish, and I optimised my systems to increase my CTR and Watch Time.”
“PTYA saved me a lot of time when it came to finding better equipment that drastically improved the quality of my videos. You know this was all great information because it was coming directly from someone who makes multiple high-end Youtube videos a week and, as a result, has more than 3 million subscribers.”
“Massive amounts of knowledge and learning, questions answered, friends made, ongoing access to content, new events scheduled for alumni, and the rather strange occupation of YouTuber ‘normalised’. If you’re serious about YouTube, the PTYA is a catalyst to success.”
